The Small Project
Education and Health in Laikipia, Kenya
In rural areas throughout the developing world the combination of grinding poverty and a lack of government services mean
that
many people, especially women and girls, lack access to education and
health
care. These conditions are key to perpetuating the cycle of
poverty.
A registered Canadian charity, The Small Project's goal is to improve the lives of people living in the Laikipia region of
Central
Kenya.
The Small Project, through The George Small Scholarship,
offers financial support to worthy young people for primary, secondary,
and
post-secondary education.
The Small Project, working with Community Health
Africa Trust, supports community based health care workers in an effort to make
the provision of health care more effective and more sustainable. |
